International terms and conditions
Every car rental company has it's own terms and conditions.
businesscars has listed the most important ones below. When making a booking, the specific terms and conditions of the car rental company of your choice will be displayed. In each case the terms and conditions of the local car rental company will prevail.

1. General information
Rental agreement:
businesscars.com acts as a broker. As a renter you will enter into a direct contractual relationship with the local car rental company by signing their rental agreement. By sigining the rental agreement you also declare to accept the terms and conditions of the local car rental company and the law of the country where the rental takes place.
Dispute resolution:
If you are for any reason dissatisfied with the service of the local car rental company, you are requested to report this direct on the spot to the car rental company and to notify
businesscars.com immediately. We will do everything to resolve your dispute rapidly and adequately.
Contact information:
We are available from Monday until Friday during office hours between 8.00 and 18.00 hours (GMT +1). In case of emergency you can call our help desk. You will find the telephone number on your car rental voucher.
2. Rates
Rate structure
Our rates include:
• Car group of your choice; car type and specifications
• Unlimited mileage
• Third party liability insurance
• Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)
• Theft Protection (T.P.)
• Airport tax and local taxes.
Our rates do not include:
• Excess in case of damage caused by accident, fire, vandalism and theft.
• Fuel
• Traffic Violations, Parking Fines and Road Tolls
• Cleaning cost of the car during the rental period
• Fines
Validity of our rates:
The offered rates are valid for 30 days up to 48 hours before pick-up. Rate changes caused by changes in local regulations or tax rules will always be charged in addition to the original offer.
3. Car
Car group and availability:
The indicated make and model is just an example for the car group that you book and might not be available by the time the rental takes place. The local car rental company is entitled to offer a car in the same car group, based on the number of seats, the number of doors, the engine capacity and other features.
Special equipment:
Baby seats and child seats, roof racks, GPS systems, Snow chains, Ski boxes and any other accessories are available at most rental locations. We advise to inform about the actual possibilities before you make your booking. Please be aware that in every country special rules about the carriage of childeren may apply.
4. Rental period
Rental day:
The minimum rental period is 24 hours, effective from commencement of rental. Rental charges are calculated on a 24 hours = 1 day basis, and extra hours are subject to additional charges.
Extension of rental period:
In case you would like to extend your rental period please contact us. Extensions of rentals must be approved by
businesscars.com and the local car rental company concerned. In case of no availablity we will try to offer you an alternative solution.
Long term rental:
Some car rental companies maximize the rental period to 28 days. In case you would like to rent longer than 28 days please do not hesitate to contact us. We can always make you an tailor made offer.
Unused rental days:
You are free to return the car prior to the original drop-off date. However, there will be no refund for unused car rental days once the rental has started.
5. Additional information about car rental
One-way rental:
A one-way rental must be confirmed by
businesscars prior to the rental period. Additional charges might occur. For one-way rentals there is a minimum rental period of 3 rental days.
Opening hours of car rental locations:
Pick-up and drop-off of the vehicle is possible during opening hours of the car rental location. Airport rental locations are usually open every day between 6:00 and 23:00 hours (local time). Downtown rental locations are usually open from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 18.00 hours, Saturdays between 8.00 and 12.00 hours or between 08.00 and 16.00 hours. You will be informed about the exact opening hours of the rental location of your choice during the booking process and they will be confirmed on your car rental voucher.
Out of office hours service:
It is depending on the local car rental company whether they offer an out of office hours service or not. For out of office hourse pick-up and drop-off an additional service fee might be charged.
Collection of the car:
Information about the exact details of the car rental location can be found on the car rental voucher. In case you are unable to pick-up your rental vehicle within office hours due to the delay of your flight, an additional out of office hours service fee might be charged. On your request, some car rental companies will deliver the car to an address different from the car rental location. In most cases there will be an extra delivery charge for this service. Unfortunately it is not possible to deliver the car to a private address.
Drivers Licence Information:
All named drivers must be in possession of a full and current driving licence valid for use in the renting country. Driving licence must be held for a minimum of 1 year. Our Business Support Team will need all data stated in your driving licence and based on this information
businesscars.com can refuse your booking.
The driver will be required to provide proof of identification on collection of vehicle. Licences in a non-roman [ABC] alphabet will need to be supported by either an International Driving Licence or official translation from an embassy or equivalent governing body.
Return of the car:
The car should be returned in accordance with the Rental Agreement of the local car rental company, including fuel, damage and any other policies.
Refuel:
You need to return the car in accordance with the fuel policy of the local car rental company. In case the car should be returned with a full tank and for any reason you do not refuel it, a refuelling charge will apply.
Additional cost:
Depending on the rental company, charges might be deducted from the deposit which is required to cover any costs such as damage to or theft of the rental vehicle, cost of extra accessories, fuel and refueling cost, parking fines, traffic violations and road tolls, one-way fee, pick-up or drop-off fee during out of office hours and / or any local charges or taxes.
6. Insurance
Coverage:
The standard insurance coverage includes the following:
• Third party liability - covers damage to third parties
• Collision Damage Waiver(C.D.W) - covers damage that occurs to the rental vehicle itself
• Theft Protection(T.P.) - covers the cost of replacing the car in case it gets stolen
The standard insurance coverage does not include the following:
• Young driver insurance
• Additional driver insurance
• Extra (additional) insurances such as:
- Excess reduction
- Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I.)
- Legal assistance insurance
Excess:
In many countries a lot of car rental companies require a high amount of excess in order to cover possible accidental damage, theft, fire or vandalism. Such excess may vary from € 500,- to € 2000,- or more per claim.
Please be aware that car rental companies do not take into consideration who is responsible for the damage event. In each case the excess is charged to the renter. If you return the car with several damages, the car rental company might even charge the excess per damage. In case of theft or young drivers under 25 years, a higher amount of excess might be charged.
businesscars Super Cover:
Super Cover is an exclusive
businesscars product. In case of damage caused by an accident, fire, theft or vandalism including damage to windows, tyres or the underside of the car ,
businesscars offers you the possibility to reduce your excess to € 150,- per damage event for only € 3.50 per day. Please note that for young drivers under 25 years an excess of € 300, - is applicable. In case of damage, please complete the
businesscars Super Cover claim form and send it to us as soon as possible but maximum within 8 weeks together with the following documents:
• Copy of rental agreement
• Copy of theft/damage report
• Copy of police report (if available)
• Copy showing the reduction of excess from your deposit (cash reciept or bank/credit card statement)

We will handle your claim within 4 weeks.
Please be aware that
businesscars Super Cover will only cover the amount of the excess and it will be refunded by
businesscars provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement of the local car rental company.

Age information:
Car rental companies in general do not rent cars for young drivers under age 21. Drivers and additional drivers over the age of 75 have to submit a health certificate to the car rental company to be able to rent a car. For details please refer to the term and conditions of the car rental location.
Additional driver:
In almost every case an additonal driver fee will be applied. Please always check before booking. The insurance of the additional driver can be arranged at the car rental location. Please note that the same rules apply to the additional driver as to the main driver.
Additional insurances available at the car rental location:
Additional insurances such as excess reduction, personal accident insurance can also be arranged locally at the car rental station. Not all locations offer the same variety of insurances.
Please note that in many cases the conditions will be different from businesscars' conditions and the costs can be much higher .
:Insurance policy of the car rental location:
In case you choose to arrange your insurance locally with the car rental company, you have to apply their insurance policy.
Liability in case of damage:
We strongly recommend you to check the rental vehicle for damages before signing the check out form. The person whose name appears on the rental agreement will be held financially responsible for damages to the rental vehicle up to the amount of the excess.
Accidents with third party involvement:
In case a third party is involved in an accident, you are required to:
• contact the police immediately to draw up a police report
• complete a damage report form together with the third party involved.
• notify the local car rental company about the accident.
Please send a copy of the damage report and a copy of the police report together with possible pictures taken from the damage within 24 hours to the rental location.
Damage without third party involvement:
If damage was caused to the rental vehicle and no third parties were involved, you are obliged to report the damage at the rental location.
Theft:
If the rental vehicle gets stolen, you will have to report the theft immediatelly to the car rental company and notify the police who will issue an official police report that has to be sent to the local car rental company within 24 hours the latest Please note that the car rental company may hold you liable for the theft in case you would be unable to provide the keys and the documents of the rental vehicle.
Breakdown of the car:
In case of malfunction or breakdown of the rental vehicle please contact the local car rental company immediately. You will find the phone number on the rental agreement. They will consult with you if the car needs to be repaired or replaced. Please bare in mind that the reparation of the rental vehicle must be authorized by the car rental company in every case.
7. Payment
Payment:
The payment of your car rental should be made in full to
businesscars.com prior to the car rental period. We offer 3 payment methods: you can pay by bank transfer (only for dutch bank account holders), by single authorization (direct debit) (only for dutch bank account holders) and by credit card (e.g. Amex, Visa en Mastercard). In case of credit card payment a service fee of € 3,50 will be charged. Should you book last minute, we suggest to pay by credit card to accelerate payment process.
Electronic invoices are sent on the day of booking. Monthly consolidated invoicing is possible for account members upon request.
Deposit:
Most car rental companies require an up-front cash security deposit equivalent to the cost of excess, a full tank fuel and other possible charges occuring during the rental period. An additional amount of deposit may be required if you also rent special equipments. Please note that in most cases car rental companies accept only credit cards to charge the deposite, although in some cases also cash deposit is possible.
Cancellation:
Cancellation of the rental must be communicated always to
businesscars.com. It is not possible to cancel your booking directly with the local car rental company. The cancellation fee is as follows:
• after having received the booking confirmation: € 25,00
• at least 2 days prior to pick-up date: € 50,00
• in case of no show: 100% of the rental amount
Reimbursement:
No refund will be given for unused rental days. This also applies when you cannot rent the vehicle because you are not in possession of the required documents.
8. Terms and conditions (short)lease
Order and lease contract:
Acting as a broker,
businesscars.com brings lessees and lessors together. As soon as the lessee places an order with
businesscars.com, the contract will be drawn up. As soon as the lessor has confirmed the order,
businesscars.com will confirm to the lessee. The terms and conditions of the lessor will be applicable from that moment.
9. Disclaimer
Disclaimer:
businesscars.com and its personnel disclaim all liability for any errors or any other inaccuracies relating to the information and description of products displayed on this website. In no event shall
businesscars, the
businesscars affiliates, and/or their respective suppliers be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of services obtained through this website or otherwise arising out of the access to the website. If, despite the limitation above,
businesscars, the
businesscars affiliates or their respective suppliers are found liable for any loss or damage which arises out of or in any way connected with any of the occurrences described above, then the liability of
businesscars, the
businesscars affiliates and/or their respective suppliers will in no event exceed, in the aggregate, the greater of (a) the rental fees which is paid to
businesscars.
